Yikes. I remember when I was 12 (28 now) and I went to one horse camp. It was drilled into my head to “give her her head” (loosen upon the reins. This girl clearly wasn’t taught that)

If you have to yank her to a stop like that, at a minimum at least release the pressure once she has stopped 😬 At lease the mare was for sale, so one can only hope she went to someone who treated her better 🥺

Please wear a helmet and put your hair back while riding. And don't stop your horse like that. You can stop a horse without using the reins and even without using a vocal command (however that would be a lot better). If nobody trained you how to do it then you should find new trainers. It should be common sense to not ride that violently

If you have bad rein control use barrel racing reins they are short and you’ll feel really off if you use them wrong it’s easy to tell This is what I did

Not only was the stop awful for the horse, the reign pulling borderline abuse, and the signals for transition horribly forced upon, but also her posture. On a horse you should utilize the cog system; your chest out, your chin up, and your legs doing nothing lest they be in stirrups. The way she was leaning back and forth and especially the elbows pointing out and back, it would lead to nothing but disaster and unbalance. And most importantly, WEAR A HELMET AT ALL TIMES! Were she to lose her balance in any of the transitions, it could've and most definitely would've lead to some sort of head injury. This video is a good example of the different paces a good figured horse can take, but god awful in handling. That horse is obviously very tolerant and trained for people.

I don't mean this to be really but why is your daughter now and get home it's like that's really not safe

Give with the hands! Poor horse, what a saint. This girl needs to learn the proper use of hands. The horse cannot use itself with ease and relaxation, the way she rides him. And her seat is not correct.

Please put a metal bar on your gums and ask someone to press on it as hard as you did on this horse. I can guarantee you'll stop anything you do. You don't have a relationship with your horse. This mare does not obey you, she only obeys the mad pain you're causing by destroying her mouth. Go ride a motorcycle if you want speed and sudden break but leave horses alone !! You don't know them and you don't like them. After all, the only good point I can find to this video is that you don't wear a helmet.

i take issue with pretty much every aspect of this video but especially the fact that she had no helmet on and when reining back the horse, she didn’t ask it to go forward immediately after. she could end up training that horse to run backwards and it will be unrideable. be careful and mindful, this is a living thing

Aside from this lady ripping the horses face apart. Galloping in an area a is FAR too little space for a horse to be galloping.

Better to take this off - it’s like showing how to “handle” kids in 1973, no respect, mixed signals, too rushed to show off skills of some teenage girl, bad example…the horse is annoyed from the beginning, head up high and galloping in enclosed space is just cherry on the top. This video should be taken down

No hate buuut, when you're stopping a horse instead of ripping its face off and pulling the reins you should just squeeze your fists and squeeze the saddle/horse with your knees !

I am a experienced rider so In my opinion she goes a little to hard on the horses face now all horses are different but pulling on a horses face like that can Hurt the horse and or ruin your tack.
